Wines

Wines

Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet/Shiraz, Chardonnay and Semillon/Chardonnay from Roberts Estate in Victoria, Grenache and dry Riesling from the Barossa Valley.

About

Vines have been grown in Australia since 1788 when the first emigrants from England arrived there bringing vines with them. The south, southeastern and southwestern parts of this continent were found to be climatically ideal for the planting of vineyards. The 1960’s saw a large change in winemaking here with the introduction of controlled fermentation that produced fresher white wines. Today, Australia produces consistently good wines that are generally fruity and soft, however only a very small quantity rank alongside the best wines of the world.
