Wines

Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from the Curico valley and a superb Reserva Assemblage of Syrah / Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot from the Colchagua valley.

About

Vines were first introduced into Chile by the Spanish Conquistadors in the middle of the 16th century, however it was not until 1851 following independence from Spain, that imported cuttings of French vine varieties were planted in the more temperate Central Region. The country, isolated as it is by the Andes Mountains in the east, the Pacific Ocean and the Humboldt Current in the west, the arid Atacama Desert in the north and the polar regions in the south, is protected from Phylloxera disease, and is therefore able to grow ungrafted vines. Since the 1990’s, the country’s wine industry has continued to grow in both quality and reputation. Making the most of its unique location, with sunny climes and cool air from the Pacific and the Andes, Chile has a reputation for producing excellent examples of varietal wines from the 'classic' grape varieties.
