Wine drinking in the UK has increased tenfold over the last few years, now even the medical profession are suggesting that wines may be consumed on a daily basis - especially red and in moderation of course. So it is not surprising that the enthusiastic consumer should want to widen his or her palate range to that of finer wines. There is only one drawback though, it can get expensive. Buying a quality wine from off the shelf without first sampling it can soon put you off trying, after all you wouldn't buy a new car without taking it for a spin. Even a recommendation by a good friend may not be to your taste.
